In relation to the expansion of our business in Bulgaria, we are looking for an experienced Shipping & Logistics Manager to manage outbound logistics, ensure reliable customer deliveries, and strengthen our shipping processes.

The role combines shipment planning, customer logistics coordination, transport management, and operational leadership, with a strong focus on delivery performance, accuracy, and cost control.
We are seeking a hands-on professional with proven experience with German OEM logistics requirements, gained through direct customer interaction or within an automotive supplier organisation. This is an essential qualification, but the role is not limited to German OEM programmes: it covers our customer and supply-chain network, including Hyundai, Kia, companies within the Mobis group, and other automotive customers and partners.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage outbound logistics and shipment planning across the customer portfolio, ensuring that customer orders and delivery schedules are fulfilled accurately, on time, and in accordance with agreed customer-specific requirements.
• Act as a key contact for customer logistics teams, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and other supply-chain partners. Handle delivery commitments, schedule changes, shortages, and escalations, and coordinate recovery actions.
• Monitor customer forecasts, delivery schedules, and call-offs, aligning shipment plans with production readiness and finished-goods availability in close cooperation with Production, Supply Chain, and warehouse teams.
• Ensure accurate and timely electronic shipping communication, including electronic data interchange (EDI), advance shipping notices (ASN), and customer portal updates. Resolve transmission errors and discrepancies in accordance with each customer's procedures.
• Coordinate shipment preparation and dispatch with warehouse and operational teams, ensuring compliance with customer-specific packaging, labelling, traceability, loading, and returnable-packaging requirements.
• Organise and monitor transport activities with carriers and freight forwarders, ensuring reliable service, optimising shipment consolidation, and controlling regular and premium freight costs.
• Ensure complete and accurate shipping documentation, including delivery notes, packing lists, transport documents, and proof of delivery, with consistent customer order references and timely information exchange with Finance.
• Coordinate the daily work of the shipping function, establish clear priorities and working instructions, and develop effective, accountable operational practices and team capabilities.
• Monitor logistics performance and drive continuous improvement, focusing on on-time delivery, shipment accuracy, customer logistics ratings, freight costs, and recurring delivery issues. Investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and support customer logistics reviews and audits.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in automotive logistics, shipping, or customer delivery management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory, team-leading, or comparable coordination role.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with German OEM customers or programmes, such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, or Audi, gained through direct customer interaction or within an automotive supplier organisation. You should be able to explain the requirements you have managed and your own responsibilities.
• Practical experience with customer delivery schedules, call-offs, EDI/ASN processes, and automotive customer portals, including applicable VDA shipping and labelling requirements and the ability to work with other customer-specific standards.
• Good knowledge of international transport coordination, shipping documentation, finished-goods inventory control, and just-in-time delivery principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse operational data, identify risks, and translate findings into practical actions.
• A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of delivery performance, coordinate across functions, and remain effective under time pressure.
Practical exposure to automotive customer logistics requirements is essential. General transport or freight-forwarding experience alone would not meet the core requirements of this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• German language skills are a strong advantage.
• Experience with Hyundai, Kia, or companies within the Mobis group would be a strong advantage, as would experience managing multiple automotive customers with different logistics requirements.
