Commodity Buyer

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute commodity strategies based on Lowest Delivered Cost (LDC) and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis.
• Conduct total cost evaluations including freight, duty, tooling, packaging, and distance-related costs.
• Request and coordinate supplier site assessments in collaboration with Purchasing & Supplier Development (P&SD).
• Issue and manage RFQs, leveraging bid lists aligned with global sourcing strategies.
• Perform supplier evaluations covering pricing, quality, delivery performance, and Financial Health Assessments (FHA).
• Lead sourcing decisions using structured award packages and justify selections with documented sourcing rationale.
• Negotiate pricing and tooling changes throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life (EOL).
• Support resourcing and outsourcing initiatives including make-to-buy transitions and supplier changes.
• Manage program sourcing deliverables, such as Sourcing Nomination Letters (SNLs), purchase orders (POs), Tool Orders (TOs), and supplier confirmations.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through productivity negotiations, roadmap actions, and economic change (ECON) tracking.
• Lead and coordinate Design Change Request (DCR) activities, including supplier notifications, PO issuance, and ensuring part/tooling availability.
• Maintain and update supplier financial health and risk profiles, ensuring proactive mitigation of supplier issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Program Management, to support sourcing and design/engineering changes.
• Lead supplier business reviews and strategic relationship meetings, ensuring alignment and continuous improvement.
• Support forward model studies and capacity planning for new and future programs.

What You Bring to the Role:

• Experience in relevant Purchasing roles in international environment;
• Experience in Automotive industry will be viewed favorably;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills;
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management abilities;
• Familiarity with RFQ processes, sourcing tools, and cost models;
• Proficient in English (written and verbal);
• Experience in managing suppliers through dedicated procurement and SRM platforms;
• University Degree in Economics or other relevant education.
