QA Engineer - iOS

About us:

ActivTrades is a premier global financial broker, empowering traders since 2001. With access to over 1,000 assets - including stocks, commodities, indices, and forex - we provide the tools, knowledge, and support to help clients thrive in the financial markets. We are currently looking for a QA Engineer to join the team behind our trading apps. The role is focused on our iOS app, with occasional cross-referencing against the Android and web clients when something needs a second look.

What you'll actually be doing

This job is hands-on manual testing of the iOS app - working through features end to end, catching the bugs that only show up when you actually use the thing, and being picky about how it feels, not just whether it works. Trading apps live and die by how they hold up under pressure, and you'll be the person who notices when something is technically correct but practically wrong.

The QA team also maintains an automation suite - Appium with C#, Selenium, and the usual unit testing libraries - and there's already a solid base of automated tests in place. You'll have the chance to grow into that work over time.

The day-to-day

Owning manual coverage for the iOS app: requirements analysis, test cases, exploratory testing, regression
Cross-checking behavior against the Android and web clients when needed
Reproducing and reporting defects clearly enough that developers can act on them without a back-and-forth
Pushing back on specs and designs when something doesn't add up, and helping raise the quality bar over time
Growing into the automation suite as you settle in - writing and extending tests in C# with Appium and Selenium

What we're looking for

A real feel for iOS as a user. You don't need to be an iOS expert, but you need to actually live on the platform
Several years of manual QA experience on real products
Comfortable with HTTP, JSON, XML, and HTML, and able to read an API response without flinching
An eye for detail - you notice things others miss and care about the difference between "it works" and "it's good"
Organized, self-directed, and easy to work with

Nice to have

Hands-on experience writing automated tests in C# or Java, ideally with Appium or Selenium
