Product Designer Intern

At Ottobock, our mission is to restore and improve people’s mobility and independence through innovative medical technology. As a Product Designer Intern, you will become part of our international Product Development team and gain hands-on experience while supporting the design and development of innovative medical devices.

Your Responsibilities:
• Support the design and development of product components and assemblies for medical devices.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation using Creo Parametric, SAP and other engineering systems.
• Assist with engineering changes, design improvements and product optimization.
• Participate in prototype development, testing and validation activities.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Product Refinement, Manufacturing, Process and Quality Engineering teams.
• Support design verification activities and related documentation according to company standards.
• Learn and apply engineering principles, standards and development processes used in the medical device industry.

Your Profile:
• Student (final year) or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (preferably Creo Parametric; experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA or similar CAD software is also welcome).
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and develop in an international engineering environment.
• Good communication skills and a proactive mindset.
• Working proficiency in English (German is a plus).

Nice to Have
• University projects involving CAD modelling or product development.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering materials.
• Experience with 3D printing or prototype development.
• Interest in medical technology and product innovation.
